SQL Server
SQL Server is the database program that CCS uses to store data. Under a variety of circumstances SQL Server can slow down the computer and use too many resources. This document provides information on how to fix these circumstances.
Error No connection to Server
If you receive an error that there is no connect to your server, you can check the following (first ensure the computer is connected to the local network.):
SQL Server 2005
Start - All Programs - SQL Server - SQL Server Configuration Manager
Make sure the SQL Server is running. You can right click on the SQL Server service to start it running.
SQL Server 2000
From the task tray in the bottom of the Windows Toolbar, make sure that SQL Server is running. If it is not, double click on it and press play from the SQL Server Window.
Sluggish System
If you find that all your computers are running slow it might be the server running SQL Server that is the culprit. Check Task Manager to see the amount of memory SQL Server is taking up.
Press Ctrl + ALT + DEL
If the SQL Server is taking up more than 500-600 megabytes, then it may need to be restarted. You can do this by following the steps provided earlier to access SQL Server
