POS Terminals.
Touch Screens
If you are in retail: With touch screen cost coming down many customers now desire touch screen compatibility. To some this is a key component. This means you don’t just attach a touch screen to the system, the software has to have the buttons sized, and the entry methods designed for easy touch screen interface.
Make sure you can run your transactions from start to finish in touch screen mode, use discounts, coupons and customers in the system to make sure it all is touch screen compatibile. In some cases using a keyboard is more efficient, such as typing in customer information.
Credit Card Integration
Every pos company offers credit card integration. But make sure you are PCI complient. This is simply not something you want to leave up to your merchant sales person, or POS Sales Person. Given the changing nature of the PCI complience, they will sell you a PCI Compliant, but it’s your job to maintain it’s compliance. So stay up to date, and make sure you get the current information regularly.

Kitchen Display Systems
The cost of a kitchen display system is now under $1300.00. Factor in the expense of paper and you have a greener, cheaper system then a kitchen printer. Make the right decision when choosing how to process orders in your kitchen. Using a display is highly effective both in cost and operations.
Printer Systems
Printers can be either thermal or dot matrix. The price now is negligible. So why the choice? Many believe a kitchen should have a dot matrix printer. However, our experience is there is no difference. Thermal Paper is affected by heat, so yes don’t have your printer near heat. But the basic rule is don’t heat any equipment. Secondly, dot matrix printers are supposedly able to handle the grease and humid nature of the kitchen. This hasn’t been proven to be true for our customers. We always recommend thermal printers, they are easier to load, don’t require ink and print many times faster. POS-X has a great printer at a low cost with 3 years warranty.
Kitchen & Inventory Management.
Do you consider your inventory theft proof? Or do you not worry about shrinkage? Do you ever want to go on vacation? Having an appropriate level of inventory management for any location, from a Liquor Store to a Coffee Shop, is key to operating a successful business. Even if you product costs you nothing, you still need to ensure it’s being sold and not broken, or stolen or given away by employees.
Evaluate your needs, and don’t think anything is too little or small to manage. Most importantly make sure your Point of Sale Inventory System is manageable.

CCS Extends POS Search Capabilities
With so many different types of businesses using CCS now, we extended our search abilities on the POS terminal to figure in any type of business requirements. Using our existing “Pivot Search” modules in the Office, we extended them to the POS teminal.
Users can now create custom search fields and select columns for inventory searching. Use can select from over 40 columns including everything from Item Name, Item Count, to Weight, Deparment, Category, Class, SubClass and more.
Also, any one of these columns can be selected as search fields. Multiple operators are included, such as > and < and = and Like.. and more.
With this new flexibility we are sure you’ll be covered on search your search.
