Inventory Understanding
Transcript of Video:
When we make a purchase order, we are going to use items from our existing inventory. This is similar to what you might have used with Quickbooks, you buy items that are in your inventory system.
When doing a purchase order, if your item is not in the list you will be prompted to enter it. Most businesses should not enter the item while doing a purchase order.
Because of the number of fields and settings for each item, it's important that they are entered properly. So it's our advice not to enter items into the inventory list while at the same time doing a purchase order.
I'll go on a quick tangent and eplain why in detail: There are two sections that your staff will place orders from, using a barcode scanning method, which will pull from the inventory item list. You can pull up the item inventory list from - Inventory - Product Department category Search. Nad they might also place orders using the Menu screen. You can do this from Menu Service - Menu Layout.
The remaining part of the video covers average cost of goods as well as looking up transactions.
